Experience: 5-7 years in injection molding environment with specific exposure to machine maintenance and processing parameters and controls. Cavity Pressure Technology experience. Skills: Must have knowledge of plastic resins, injection molding and tooling. Good presentation and oral communication skills. Must be a team player with a positive attitude. Good problem solving skills. Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Must accept continuous training as related to position. Must be motivated and a self-starter.
Perform a variety of duties related to the development of a cost efficient, capable process for new and existing molds providing technical expertise on molds and processes.
Coordinate in startup of new/existing projects/production jobs, optimizing cost, efficiency and quality.
Ensure process control and maintain appropriate documentation.
Monitor the process of molds running in production, troubleshooting problem molds and assisting in resolving quality issues.
Assist in establishing processes for new molds, document process development and changes, evaluating new tool performance and monitoring new tool design.
Coordinate maintenance of molds, specify repair or alteration of molds and automation while ensuring adequate documentation is maintained.
Perform designed experiments, turbulent flow analysis, velocity curves and gate seal tests to enhance processes as well as improve yields and utilization through reduced cycles and efficient setups.
Prepare setup of molding runs, follow-up on progress of tool, process and automation improvements.
Assist with the design and debugging of new systems, tooling and automation.
Assist in maintenance and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
May provide technical guidance to other process technicians.
Perform other duties as assigned.
