Reporting to the Administrative Director of Laboratory Services and managing a team of twenty talented MTs this is an excellent opportunity in the region's largest medical center. A not-for-profit organization, St. Mary's Hospital was founded in 1896 by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth. Today, St. Mary's Hospital is the largest medical center between Denver and Salt Lake City, and boasts over 350 beds, approximately 2,000 staff and 300 active physicians.
This is a management position for Core Lab Manager.
This position is responsible for and has authority for managing (planning, organizing, staffing, influencing and controlling) all components of the Laboratory.
Recruit and maintain adequate staff within the budget guidelines of administration. Maintain the morale of the personnel.
Assure regular staff continuing education activities.
Interact and consult with physicians about patients and problem lab work, and interpret lab results for the chart.
Ensure cooperation of lab personnel with each other, other hospital employees and the medical staff.
Assure timely and accurate reporting of clinically useful lab results.
Maintain the laboratory operation within budgetary guidelines and ensure revenue is within projections.
Consult with lab staff on problem results and equipment troubleshooting.
Assure compliance of the laboratory with outside regulatory agencies.
Investigate all complaints of laboratory services and counsel with lab personnel who are having trouble maintaining hospital and department standards.
Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
Attend meetings as required and participates on committees as directed. Attend and serve on professional/civic service organizations as hospital representative.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or an appropriate science program from an accredited college or university, or equivalent, required
ASCP certification, required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, required
Five years of experience in a hospital laboratory, required
Five years of experience in a leadership role, preferred
Master's degree, preferred
