TheQuality & Analytical Lab Supervisorwill manage the quality assurance activities of the Pearl Plant and its suppliers to ensure these operations and the products produced and distributed meet Corporate, customer, consumer and regulatory requirements. This includes achieving safety, quality and productivity objectives. Will also supervise the quality assurance analytical activities of the Pearl plant quality assurance lab.
Key
Responsibilities:

Develop, implement and manage data based procedures and decision-making, to ensure Pearl and Ft. Madison operations are in compliance with Corporate Quality Manufacturing Inspection procedures, as well as State/Federal Regulatory compliance.
Specific action items include, but not limited to:

Develop operator based quality procedures.

Ensure accurate, timely and cost-effective data is provided, by department resources, for production control and decision-making.

Identify, communicate and respond to consumer quality and safety concerns or trends, for prompt resolution.

Ensure Pearl and Fort Madison Analytical Laboratory is in compliance with corporate quality standards.

Ensure products are all in compliance with all raw materials and formula specifications including understanding and applying chemical and regulatory knowledge to bring nonconforming batches into compliance according to strict regulatory requirements.
Monitor, document, and audit analytical methods and results to assure that test procedures are accurate and reproducible and that data is appropriately archived.

Troubleshoot and adapt analytical methods (HPLC, GC, AA, etc.) to ensure accuracy and reproducibility.

Manage quality related interactions, including raw materials, with suppliers and tollers, under the guidance of Corporate Quality.
Approve raw materials and finished products process changes per Management of Change guidelines.
Disposition product and approve process changes per Management of Change guidelines.
Manage and develop a technically competent staff. Conduct and document ongoing appropriate and timely performance feedback, to include annual performance appraisals for direct reports.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor''s degree in Chemistry or related sciences required.
Experience:
Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in laboratory analytical services/management; analytical chemistry.
Knowledge:
Must possess a sound working knowledge of analytical chemistry, process chemistry, laboratory instrumentation, computer automation, laboratory safety, document management, and manufacturing quality management practices.
Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated people management skills.
Strong knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes (e.g acid/base chemistry, blending, etc.)
Strong knowledge of analytical techniques (e.g. HPLC, GC, atomic absorption spectrometry, FTIR, UV/VIS spectroscopy, viscometry, and bench top techniques)
Proven risk-based decision making ability
Ability to assemble, interpret, and explain analytical and chemical information to non-technical personnel through both written and verbal communication.
Working knowledge of various software programs including Microsoft Office (particularly Excel VBA) and analytical/ chromatography data systems.
Effective oral and written communications.
Ability to travel to various destinations, such as to Vendor/Supplier locations.
Job: QualityEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
