Position
Summary: The Logistic Specialist (LSP) will process, validate and maintain customer s transportation instructions. The LSP will work with the Logistics Supervisor to ensure that all movements initiated are handled safely, are cost efficient and timely.
Essential Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
Enter orders for each load into the TMS and complete all loads related paperwork. Enter broker s orders and positioning orders though EDI and Client board.
Coordinate client s activity to include scheduling arrival dates, pick up dates and delivery appointments.
Maintain an effective filling system in line with company policy.
Confirm insurance and assist client in the event of a claim
Provide carrier on-boarding and Carrier 411 compliance protocols
Effectively communicate with /Sales Team to ensure customers needs are met or exceeded in a timely fashion. Ensure effective and constant communication with customers.
Enter full job details in companies TMS system.
Work closely with customers, colleagues and carriers to ensure smooth operations to deadlines.
Deliver alternative solutions to customers where possible to minimize the impact on scheduled delivery/pickup upon changes to schedule.
Contribute to the general administration on the office.
Provide imagining service as needed.
Track, trace and provide planning support to Logistics supervisor.
Prepare and provide weekly reports.
Serve as a backup to Logistics supervisor.
Qualifications:
Prior Transportation experience required.
Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, Internet Explorer and Outlook.
Attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills.
Ability to pass a background check and secure an E-Rail/TWIC badge.
Excellent multi tasking and customer service skills required.
Ability to function in a fast paced, high volume environment.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
