Our client, a fast-growing, Community Bank in the Midlands, SC area, is searching for a Compliance Officer to lead their Compliance Department. This individual is responsible for developing, implementing and administering all aspects of the Bank's Compliance Management Program. This is a great opportunity to join a community bank with significant opportunity for growth (over the past 10 years, our client has gone through 5 different acquisitions).
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Plan, organize, and control the Bank's day-to-day administrative, lending and operational compliance activities; collaborate with the Chief Risk Officer in the overall administration of these directives for the Bank
Participate in various committees, audits and examinations
Performs duties as the Bank Secrecy Act/OFAC Officer, Community Reinvestment Act Officer, Privacy Officer, and Bank Security and Safety Officer
Conducts staff training related to new hires, compliance, customer service, mainframe and software computer programs
Advises the Board of Directors, Senior Management and Bank personnel of emerging compliance issues and consults and guides the Bank in the establishment of controls to mitigate risks
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 5-years related BSA experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization
Ability to compute basic to moderately complex math calculations
Basic problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Proficiency in using personal computers and office products (e.g., Word, Excel, Adobe)
Effective time management skills
Previous experience with ITI software preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
