The Sr. Payroll Coordinator is responsible for processing U.S. and Canada payroll related data into Ceridian Payroll system (HPW), and maintain accurate employee records and data on the HR systems for all North America CKP paid employees (approximately 700 employees). Primary
Responsibilities: Processes bi-weekly payrolls, including input and reconciliation of new hires, terminations, changes. U.S. payrolls include three (3) different processing cycles on a bi-weekly basis each; and Canada payroll is a semi-monthly process. Works closely with the Payroll Lead to ensure all tax filings are complete, whether handled by Ceridian Tax Service, or manually for certain local or state filings. Administration of timekeeping systems and input of time data into system. Audits data/reports and make necessary corrections prior to finalizing payroll and then transmit data files to Ceridian. Ensures compliance with all procedures and processes related to payroll administration. Audits on-line reports and receive data files and transmissions to update payroll records and prepare for the next processing period. This includes wage & tax data, general ledger files and vendor transmissions and funding. Generates reports through query systems in Ceridian, as needed for Finance, Management, HR, etc. Prepares appropriate wire requests for Finance, such as tax wire, 401k, etc. Responds to data requests including verifications of employment and various employee or HR team questions. Knowledge & Skill Requirements: Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Minimum of 5 years payroll experience. Web based payroll system experience is required. Extensive working knowledge of payroll processes, functions and systems. Aptitude for or knowledge of labor laws as it relates to Wage and Hour laws; Checkpoint policies and procedures, etc. Exceptional organizational skills, ability to multi task and pay attention to detail and to close on a task. Strong computer proficiency with advanced Excel experience. Efficient and accurate data entry skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build and foster strong business relationships. Logical, methodical approach to problem solving. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
