Summary: The purpose of this position is to provide continuous and effective management and direction of the rendering and energy conservation engineering departments while providing technical, systems and control resource information and guidance for operation facilities and processing plants to maintain optimal performance and innovation. Responsibilities include: provide support and service to plant department personnel and plant management; develop and analyze systems and controls; maintain Tyson Foods standards and reporting systems; interface and work with other department directors and engineers on implementing process improvement and innovation; provide project management services when required; will be on call to handle emergency downtime situations and will coordinate and implement solutions for recovery; any other tasks as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor''s degree in related engineering field or equivalent engineering experience.
Experience: 10
years applicable engineering experience with a minimum of 5 years experience in the food industry; experience in rendering and energy systems optimization and process controls, detailed process flow designs and equipment specifications; previous experience as a leader or contributor to a business unit preferred.
Computer Skills: Knowledge and use of computer programs, spreadsheet, database and scheduling programs required.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Special Skills: Good working knowledge of the Rendering and Energy systems and process controls, capable of supervising engineers on multi-faceted projects of any magnitude; demonstrated ability to complete complex projects on time and on budget; demonstrated ability to develop process control and optimization systems; proven ability to analyze equipment and process and recommend quality and effective corrective actions for optimal performance.
Supervisory: Will supervise electrical and associated systems and control engineers.
Travel: 25%
