Purpose and Scope
The purpose of this position is to coordinate transportation needs for all departments throughout Patten Industries or directly for customers requiring transportation services. The transportation coordinator must communicate and coordinate moves efficiently in the most economical manner. Must also manage external vendors by maintaining open communication and meeting our customer's critical requirements. The transportation coordinator must establish an understanding of the following objectives and accountabilities:

Objectives & Accountabilities for Transportation Coordinator:
Manage and prioritize the transportation moves.
Manage relationships and communicate effectively with all external transportation vendors.
Communicate effectively with rental and sales coordinators and all other departments.
Respond to calls/requests in a timely manner.
Be accessible at all times during scheduled hours and as needed after hours.
Review vendor invoices for accuracy.
Monitor internal efficiencies/inefficiencies and improve processes as necessary
Monitor external vendors for responsiveness/procedures
Matching proper sized truck for each delivery/pick up
Recognize permit moves and proper procedures for each
Ability to manage multiple requests effectively and multitask
Effectively optimize equipment and work tool availability by location
Maintain on-time record for deliveries and pick-ups with established metrics.


Administrative:
Fill all transportation needs by maintaining a daily delivery/pick-up schedule and utilize internal and external haulers (as needed) to complete all deliveries / pick-ups on a timely basis
Must become subject manner expert (SME) in the use of DSI software and utilize all tools necessary to optimize efficiency while maximizing on time deliveries & pick-ups
All invoicing to be completed on a daily basis
Weekly review and approval of vendor invoices
Monthly review & download of CT statement
Monthly status report of CT goals, on time delivery report, and initiatives

Customer Relations:
Communications skills are essential to the success in this position.
Discusses customer needs, suggesting the most suitable time for delivery and pick-up.
Works closely with all personnel to insure customer satisfaction.
Asks questions about delivery conditions such as dock heights, narrow streets, etc.
Notifies customer immediately if there are any delivery delays.
Follows up on all delayed deliveries and/or pick-ups.
Respond to all inquiries for transportation on a timely basis
Understand that customers include both external (Patten customers) and internal (Patten employees and departments)
Understand how this position impacts the corporate Net Promoter Score (NPS)
Must have polite and professional phone and face to face communication skills
Technical:
Knowledge of Product Line and Specifications.
Knowledge of State, County, and City Permitting and Hauling Processes.
Complete understanding of Dispatching Software (DSI), Fleetmatics and iRental/DBS and other applicable tools.
Have working knowledge of usage and applications of all equipment and services offered by Patten

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
