The Database Technical Manager manages overall database analysis and development. He or she is responsible for database design in a complex Oracle and non-Oracle technology environment, managing the performance of the database team and their development. Specific responsibilities include:
Manage staff workload
Manage Vendors and offshore resources.
Manage strong working relationships with the business, operations and other technology team members.
Actively participate in performance management and rewards process to drive ongoing performance and development of team.
Assist in budgeting process.
Ensure data recovery, integrity, space requirements and performance of physical databases are met through formulations and monitoring of policies, procedures, and standards. This person will coordinate activities with Users to achieve Corporate objectives on schedule and within budget.
Monitor software subset-systems to detect potential database problems. Investigate, troubleshoot, and evaluate production database problems. Recommend and implement approved solutions.
Write, test, and implement operating system scripts and procedures to automate various Oracle functions and processes.
Manage development, testing, and implementation of database systems to meet database capacity standards and sizing objectives.
Manage or coordinates database vendor relationships and contracts.
Assist in managing and maintaining database backups.
Perform database and application upgrades; installing multiple instances of Oracle Applications-11i, and/or Siebel instances, cloning the Oracle Applications and/or Siebel instances multi-node to single-node and single-node to multinode.
Design and implement load balancing of form servers and database server.
Administer user responsibility authorizations in enterprise applications (Oracle, Siebel, etc.)
Create, test, and implement operating system documentation and procedures.
Plan and monitor assigned projects and communicate project progress.
Write, maintain and file necessary system documentation and procedures.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
