Job Description
The Production Technician position is critical to our production process. Working as part of production team, this position is responsible for ensuring daily receipt and delivery of files and proofs to and from client location to RRD Premedia. This position will also ensure proper priorities are communicated based on account manager instructions. Attention to detail and precision is a must. This hourly position requires flexibility with weekends, overtime and shift work. Shift times will be either
11 a.m. - 7 p.m. or 2 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Responsibilities:
Provides pre-production services and performs order management processes such as communicating job specific information, entering of order into production and preparation of timely and accurate job instructions to meet customer expectations.
Ensures that all components of job are received both digital files as well as job instruction and copy. This includes preflighting of desktop files to identify any missing digital components.
Processes proofs and trims per client instruction. This includes creation of mockups for both catalog books and complex direct mail pieces.
Ensures quality of proofs and mockups meet customer expectations prior to releasing for shipment.
Ensures shipment of proofs are organized per customer requirements and are complete.
Track progress of all work submitted to ensure accurate updates
Create and manage job page folders, ensuring proper organization of proofs
Ensure priorities are set effectively.
Enter all database information utilized for tracking and timing metrics.
Uses ethical business practices in dealing with customers, employees, vendors, suppliers and the community.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Required Skills
Excellent organizational skills.
Attention to detail and precision a must.
Previous experience working within a Premedia/Prepress organization.
Demonstrated knowledge of database software.
Demonstrated knowledge of Desktop Publishing Software such as InDesign and Quark.
Strong oral communication skills.
Strong project management skills and good sound judgment skills.
Ability to work with cross-functional and/or distributed virtual teams.
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work with ambiguity.
Fluent in Microsoft Office and Macintosh operating systems.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
