Optomi, in partnership with a leading meteorology broadcast firm, is seeking a Localization Team laboratory manager in the Smyrna area for a six month, contract to hire engagement. They need a blend of an electronics technician with video knowledge, network skills and an understanding of components and design flow.

What You'll Be Doing All Day:
Keep all labs and equipment in working order
Design Ethernet networks
Documenting and labeling networks, particularly the Localization Ethernet
Patch, source and destination labeling
Supervising common data storage use
Schedule MSO compliance testing
Create check out and return lists for equipment
What You'll need to be a Great Fit:
Engineering Technician degree or the equivalent
Networking courses and certifications
5-10 years as a hardware lab technician, 2-3 of those years in some form of management
3-5 years video set-up and embedded engineering experience
Cable TV experience preferred
Tools you'll need to get the job done:
Windows Embedded systems
Scripting experience (Python or Perl)
Version control systems (Subversion, GIT, CVS, Perforce)
Bug/Issue tracking tool experience (Jira preferred)
Fine pitch soldering
Orcad Schematic Capture
Tektronix Oscilloscope experience
Manzanita MPEG Analyzer
MS Access database use
Excellent verbal and communication skillsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
