Scope of Position:
Strategic sourcing, logistics and alternate/contract manufacturing performance as well as ensuring the appropriate amount of operational (tactical) support is provided for the Life Sciences division from a Global Supply Management perspective. Ensure Import/Export and Global Buying Policy compliance. Key Success Metric: Delivery on GSM specific financial commitments to the Life Sciences business and the corporation while ensuring the supply of products and services required for the business to meet its global manufacturing and sales plans.
Day to Day
Responsibilities:
The role includes formally managing suppliers for key strategic materials within the division and working closely with division and corporate personnel to achieve the long and short term strategies of the business. An expectation of the role is to contribute significant supply management leadership for the corporation / business as part of the overall corporate global supply management leadership team, as well as, personally managing suppliers, customers and or commodities. This role provides an exciting opportunity to drive collaboration between supply management, manufacturing, technology, commercial and finance functions to ensure optimal business strategies and financial results.

Creating a Business Supply Management Vision and Strategy (followed by execution)
Business Case and Value Proposition Generation and Selling
Senior Level Supplier management
High level supplier negotiations
Mobilizing and developing people
Supply assurance and Risk Management
Contract Negotiation and Writing Oversight
E-Commerce / E- Procurement
Managing and analyzing inventory
Pricing techniques and cost analysis
Demand Planning
Sourcing
Supply Planning & Execution
Logistics
Network Planning
Contract Manufacturing (is responsible for the CLS Alternate Manufacturing Group supporting significant revenue fulfillment and generation, asset management, quality, regulatory compliance, service levels along with full business team participation)
Tax Effective Supply Chain Management
Travel Requirements (please note if international): 20 - 30% including international travel. Must be geographically mobile.

Required Education: BS / MS preferred, from a Technical field a plus.

Required Skills:

Must be a skilled and hard-nosed negotiator. From developing the negotiation strategy through the various negotiation stages through agreement execution, candidate must demonstrate firmness, resolve and tenacity to ensure the outcome is always as favorable as possible while at the same time enabling key business priorities.
High level understanding and application of End to end Supply Chain concepts and fundamental processes and tools.
Proven track record in oversight of sourcing (direct and indirect material procurement), logistics and alternate/contract manufacturing operations required to support a global, diverse and growing business unit.
Leadership, project management, teaching, problem solving / conflict resolution, negotiation and selling skills.
Value proposition generation (ROI, Payback, NPV).
Basic financial acumen understands staff and line business P&Ls and how to most favorably impact same.
Desired Skills:
Life Sciences or related industry end to end Supply Chain work experience (Plan > Source > Make > Deliver > Enable) along with Network Planning (S&OP, Net Requirements Planning, Network Design Optimization and Tax Effective Supply Chain Management) experience.
Supply Management Service Company (SMSC), Supply Chain Management Company (SCMC) and Full Principal (FP) Supply Chain operations experience.
Training experience.
Audit experience.
6 sigma / Lean / Process Excellence experience.
ERP
Experience: PeopleSoft (preferred) and SAP.
Prior P&L responsibility.
