Company Name:

Position Type:
Full-time
Enterprise Market Risk Technology (EMRT) department provides world class business solutions to support Corporate and LOB Risk teams. The EMRT group works with its business partners in identification, measurement, aggregation and reporting of Market Risk across the firm. The group works closely with the lines of business to ensure that risks are being appropriately managed within the defined risk appetite for the firm. Market risk activities include market risk, counterparty credit risk, issuer risk, country risk and liquidity risk. The Market Risk systems perform valuation, simulation, aggregation and reporting of risk metrics and models on all simple (bonds) and complex (structured products, derivatives) securities products. Team members will work with advanced mathematical models, theoretical pricing, statistical and stochastic models, VaR (Value at Risk), PFE (Potential Future Exposure), IMM (Internal Model Methodology), and stress. The Market Risk systems are comprised of intraday and overnight batch processes that handle staging for all trading position data and market data required for risk modeling as well as making this data available to the various risk valuation systems. The quantitative models and associated data support trading activities as well as regulatory and business reporting.
The open position is for a data services manager within the EMRT team supporting Corporate Risk and its partner businesses. The data services manager role is responsible for directing strategy, program management, relationship management, and application development oversight for data and data services within EMRT. The manager will run a team of onshore and offshore resources to create new risk processes, and to re-factor and in some cases completely re-architect and replace, large components of the existing Market Risk Systems.
The role will partner with senior line of business and technology managers to ensure that technology deliverables meet their requirements. The manager is expected to be a subject matter expert (SME) in the Capital Market business space with specific knowledge of market and/or counterparty credit risk, trading and position related functions and data. The manager will use their SME knowledge to guide business and technology requirements, and overall strategy. As part of strategy the manager is expected to assess the impact of upcoming regulations and emergent technology in the risk space.
This position also requires that the manager have experience working with relational databases. This experience is needed to manage the large amount of trade, position and market data feeding into the system, as well as the risk results and reporting data stored in a database. There are significant speed and memory performance considerations related to the volume of trade and position data and risk calculations being produced on a daily basis. This requires skills in logical and physical schema design, real time and batch processing, data collection and enrichment techniques, and data services for distribution of data real time.
