Programmer Analyst
The Programmer Analyst will be responsible for supporting catalog systems (CommercialWare/CWDirect) needs from project inception through to project implementation and post implementation follow up and support. Additionally this position will be responsible for:
Development and system support activities using RPG
Must understand full SDLC (software development life cycle - Analysis, Design, Development, Coding, Programming, Testing, Documentation, Implementation or Installation)
Work with Business Analysts and End Users to collect, analyze, and evaluate business requirements
Create technical design documents
Examine requirements documents and create technical design documents (flowcharts, database schemas)
Create and execute system and acceptance test plans
Create and execute implementation plans
Create User Guides
Responsible for off hours support
Experience
5
years of experience on AS/400 RPGIV, RPG ILE. CL, DDS, OS400, SQL, Query 400, OPNQRYF, Multi-membered files, DBU, SDA, i-Series Data Transfer, Nice to have AS400-ODBC connectivity utilizing Excel or Access.
Knowledge of SQL and some experience on embedded SQL would be a nice to have
Experience in CommercialWare/CWDirect a huge plus!
The individual must be able to adapt to a fast paced environment for small to complex projects
Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and adhere to project deadlines
Ability to communicate clearly and precisely with end users, other developers, and management both in writing and orally
Ability to listen and understand instructions
Conform to IT Development Standards
Perform critical thinking in evaluating software specifications and make suggestions for improvement
Possess a strong analytical ability
Ability to keep calm and focused under stress
Ability to function as a team player
Works and communicates under the moderate to minimal supervision
Ability to troubleshoot problems
Provide production support for assigned systems.
Experience assisting end users.
Experience using an electronic help desk ticket tracking
Project Management Skills
Organizational Skills
Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of Microsoft Project desirable
Knowledge of Microsoft Visio desirable
Experience in retail companies would be a plus, but is not required.
