Job Description
Primary responsibility is to specify and direct the activities of development resources while tracking schedule and budget. Must have a solid technical background, preferably in hardware, firmware, or software development. Prior experience and success with the entire project life-cycle - taking a project from concept through requirements, design, implementation, testing, release, and ongoing maintenance and support - is essential. May be called upon to assist with technical tasks consistent with technical background as well as development of requirements and tests. Responsible for authoring project documentation and also directing others to author project documentation. Must be self-directed, assertive, and results oriented.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Works under the direction of a Principal Project Execution Engineer and Program Manager
Provides work direction to the project team
Provides direction for more junior Project Execution Engineers
Competent in the use of Project Management Tools, e.g. MS Excel, MS Project, MS Team Foundation Server. Participates in tool evaluation and design. Provides tool administration.
Ensures proper participation by all functional groups including but not limited to engineering, operations, quality, marketing, training, and services. Ensures proper communication among these functional groups.
Assists Principal Project Execution Engineer in cross divisional communications.
Authors and maintains project documents and requirements for projects. Manages the requirements gathering process for assigned projects.
Monitors progress against plan and ensures corrective action where necessary.
Prepares slides and reports on projects'' status in Program Review.
Ensures all projects are managed in accordance with the current AO-RDP-0001 and ISO approved work instructions, procedures, and processes. May participate in PDPG.
Qualifications:
BS Eng or Comp Sci
4 years experience
MS Eng or Comp Sci
3 years experience
Expertise in development methodologies, e.g. Waterfall and Agile
Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal technical supervision
