Position Overview
The Loan Processor is responsible for soliciting and originating residential conventional and government mortgages.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Promotes conventional and government programs to realtors, builders and other referral sources as well as prospective customers.
Counsels prospective customers regarding appropriate mortgage programs.
Pre-qualifies based on income, debt, employment history, and other credit data.
Determines customers' eligibility and acceptability of loan risk.
Originates loan applications and monitors the loan from application through closing process, maintaining effective communications with customers, referral sources, and loan support staff.
Utilizes automated underwriting systems, where applicable, to issue point of sale commitment letters.
Minimum Requirements
Five years experience in processing conventional and government mortgage loans.
Strong communication, organization and time management skills.
Ability to prioritize.
Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Desktop Underwriting and Loan Prospector.
Ability and read and understand financial and mortgage statements.
Five years experience in processing conventional and government mortgage loans.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
