Deployment Engineer
Must be able to pass federal government background check and obtain & maintain active Secret Security clearance:
The Deployment Engineer shall plan, control, oversee, and deploy the client capabilities it designed and developed, including all customer requirements and components of the customer.
The Deployment Engineer will be a key member of a highly skilled team maintaining Network Management Software for the Defense Information Systems Agency. The successful candidate will be able to ensure the existing system up to government standards and meets all security requirements. A strong software engineer background is essential given the critical nature of the software application. Previous experience with network management system deployment and integration is required.
The Deployment Engineer shall leverage specialized custom internal systems. These specialized systems utilization shall be documented in the System Deployment Plan. The Deployment Engineer shall conduct site surveys, site planning, site installations, system configuration, data acquisition/conversion, and installation tests. All services provided under this task area shall use and be integrated with approved DoD and Federal standard communications, security, data, and other defined technical specifications. All applications shall be integrated with existing Infrastructure or built with new infrastructure in compliance with approved Dod and Federal standards and architectures, and as approved by the customer. A System Installation Guide shall be prepared by the Deployment Engineer which documents the procedures of creating disk images required for full installation into the customer environments. A System Deployment Report shall be created at the conclusion of each system deployment event. Any deployments in various locations for customer sites or divisions, The System Deployment Plan, Report and Guide shall be required.
The Deployment Engineer shall assist the customerin developing a COOP strategy for the various projects, which shall be hosted at a customer site facility. This COOP strategy for the customer shall be based on the availability and security requirements of all Platform and Application capabilities. Activities will be completed in coordination with all related parties, including personnel and external data consumers/providers. This task includes assessing the anticipated user load, assisting with development and maintenance of a COOP Plan, shipping equipment, installing applications on -site and remotely, transferring maintenance support, supporting equipment connections and configuration, etc.
Education and Training:
5-10 years of Network
Management Systems Deployment and Sustainment experience.
B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software
Egnineering, Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, or Programming experience
in a federal environment.
