Database Administrator

The Database Administrator plays a critical role in the Operations group supporting online transactional databases and business intelligence reporting systems. In addition to the traditional DBA activities you will be tasked with supporting new products leveraging cloud
services
and NoSQL technologies.
Responsibilities:
Physical implementation of database designs.
Resolve database performance issues through load testing.
Capacity planning, replication, and ETL.
Write procedural code for database access, modification, and creation.
Implement and test disaster recovery plans and back up policies.
Maintain development, QA, and integration environments.
Identify data sources, provide data flow diagrams and document processes.
Apply service packs and patches to servers. May also be required to apply firmware upgrades and/or work closely with systems personnel to implement.
Work with storage vendors to maintain storage infrastructure.
Hands on server maintenance, care, and feeding
Requirements:
2
years' work experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and 2012.
1
year work experience with SSIS.
3
years writing stored procedures.
2
years' experience with MySQL and Linux.
Experience designing and implementing cubes are a definite plus.
Experience with AWS infrastructure and Hadoop a plus.
Knowledge of current IT and
computer
science concepts, issues, practices, and methodologies.
Knowledge of database programming concepts.
Experience with analyzing and troubleshooting the interaction between databases.
Ability to perform database backups and restores.
Experience managing security and user accounts.
Ability to create and script DTS and SSIS packages.
Experience supporting VLDBs is a plus.
