Title: LAMP/ Linux Administrator (Linux, Apache, mySQL, and PHP (LAMP))
Duration: 24 Months
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Roles and
Responsibilities:
o Provide advanced systems administration for Linux, Apache, mySQL, and PHP (LAMP)
o Analyze system performance and suggest/implement tuning as needed
o Develop system tools and utilities (i.e. scripts, etc.) to simplify and support IT and business operations
o Plan, implement and manage systems initiatives with IT and customer teams
o Establish & maintain technical standards & server security policies
o Patch Linux servers, both software and firmware, on scheduled basis as well as urgent security releases
o Performance Monitoring, Capacity Planning, Trend Forecasting
o Document and improve upon processes, procedures, and best practices to align with industry standards and customer needs
o Availability Reporting
o Document and improve upon processes, procedures, and best practices to align with industry standards and customer needs
o Web Server configuration and administration: IIS, Netscape and Apache.
o Meet Disaster Recovery requirements to ensure Business Resumption requirements
o Provide high-level of customer satisfaction to internal and external customers, applying necessary sense of urgency and creativity in problem identification and prompt incident resolution
o Provide advanced systems administration for Linux
o Analyze system performance and suggest/implement tuning as needed
o Install additional OpenSource and commercial software products, in a LAMP environment, as needed to develop, deploy, and support the platform
o Administer and support specific platform tools including - but not limited to - TIENET, LaserFiche Rio, and OMTool
Experience:
A minimum of 8
years of Information Technology experience.
At least 3
years as a Linux, Apache, mySQL, PHP (LAMP) Architect / Administrator.
Experience working with LAMP in a LARGE enterprise environment.
Knowledge:
o Planning, designing and installation of servers (Red Hat). Troubleshooting, patching, and maintenance of servers.
o Performance tuning, using built in OS functions and external/3rd party tools.
o Installing and configuring Apache, mySQL, and PHP.
o Failover and High Availability for LAMP and LAMP-based applications.
o Provides integration support
services
for LAMP and LAMP-based applications
o Hands on experience on performance tuning and load balancing.
o Install and configure SSL certificates on all web farms
o Administer, configure, and troubleshoot third-party tools (TIENET, LaserFiche, and OMTool)
o Good working knowledge of load balancing technologies
o Strong knowledge of browsers
o Excellent oral & written communication skills.
Schedule:
o Availability as needed for on-call 7X24 shift rotations, overtime and off hours support.
Certifications:
o MCSE 2003 or Red Hat Linux CertificatesEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
