Kelly Scientific has an entry-level Lab Assistant opportunity at a chemical company in Hugo, MN.

This is a 3-6 month Temp-to-Hire
position
. Shifts are Mon-Fri, with an alternating weekly schedule of 6am-2:30pm and 9:30am-6pm, with some flexibility. This position starts at $11.50/hour. Opportunities for advancement for the right person.

SUMMARY
Laboratory Assistant facilitates laboratory efficiencies for degreed lab chemist by cleaning and maintaining laboratory instruments, work area, and pilot mixing areas. They maintain clean and safe working conditions in the laboratory. This position is a full time hourly, entry level (0-2 years experience) position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Cleans all mechanical test equipment, glassware, lab space, pilot mixer and mills, so that they are ready for use for Chemists, after tests are completed.
Restocks all lab supplies, solvents, raw materials, sample shipping materials, and cleaning products.
Removes trash and changes out trash cans, and unpacks and removes packaging for incoming lab samples and parts.
Mixes and mills pilot lab samples and chemist direction, and prepares and packages outgoing samples and packages.
Maintains clean and safe working environment.
Performs other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
High School/GED diploma.
Must be very self motivated and a self starter in meeting responsibilities.
Ability to organize tasks in most time efficient way.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Lubricant lab industry experience is a strong plus.
1 year experience in any production laboratory environment.
Experience with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
Evidence of mechanical aptitude or certifications.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
