Summary:
Autotegrity Inc., a very profitable and fast growing Internet marketing company in Cambridge (Kendall Square), seeks an exceptional Senior Ruby On Rails Engineer to be a key contributor to our experienced technical team. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone to move from a traditional enterprise software development to a much more dynamic and startup oriented environment.
You will be an integral part of a fast-growing, entrepreneurial company, and you'll have the influence and tools available to rapidly grow our business. In this position you will have the opportunity to:
o Own our web infrastructure. This includes a complete live cycle: designing, developing, QA'ing, maintaining, deploying and operating the software.
o Sharpen your skills in Ruby On Rails technologies as well as MySQL database development.
o Broaden your horizons by becoming more of a business oriented person. Decisions you make have immediate impact to our bottom line. You would have to learn to analyze the financial impact of your work and adjust accordingly.
o Work directly with business stake holders and develop functionality based on their feedback.
Qualifications:
o 4-5 years of general Web Development experience.
o 2-3 years of Ruby On Rails development.
o Experience in other programming languages like Java, Javascript or Python desired.
o 1-2 years SQL database experience (ideally on MySQL).
o 2-3 years of Linux (or other Unix) experience.
o Ability to learn quickly and take ownership of the project.
o Ability to operate in a high risk environment and balance risk/reward.
o Ability to function independently as well as be part of a team.
Desirable, but not Required
o Experience with Apache, HAProxy, Phusion Passenger
o Experience in building scalable applications
o Load balancing deployment strategies on Linux
o Experience with MySQL replication
o Experience in selecting and using open source technology
