Summary:
Under the general direction of the I.S. Manager, Development and Support, participates as staff on projects and in accordance with skills and abilities, assumes responsibility for managing small to mid-sized teams and/or projects. Manages and executes the implementation and ongoing application maintenance and support of the inpatient and outpatient patient clinical information systems and associated products including, but not limited to, building and maintaining orders, order sets, charge functions, enhancements, product service packs, hot fixes, patches and upgrades. Performs and monitors daily maintenance of critical clinical applications and audits data integrity between interacting and interfacing systems. Is an expert in problem analysis and the impact of decisions and planning in application processes. Actively participates in the periodic review of system effectiveness with customers and vendors. Effectively collaborate and coordinate vendor resources in problem resolution. Effectively communicates and collaborates with physicians and clinicians on enhancement requests and problem resolutions. Actively participate in development of testing scenarios and execution of unit, functional/system and integration testing. Endorses and uses approved Information Services Methodologies. This position does not provide direct patient care.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
To be successful, the Clinical Systems Analyst must have experience with an EMR system with a minimum of 5 years clinical experience. Must have excellent communication skills to effectively work with physicians and other clinicians to implement and troubleshoot EMR systems. Proficiency with simple queries and reporting, along with analytical skills to include workflow analysis, design, build, test, and implementation of vender supplied applications is required. The Clinical Systems Analyst must have the ability to manage multiple activities and demands.
Associate's degree required, Bachelors degree preferred. Previous patient-care work experience operating under a clinical license (approved by the
indiana
Professional Licensing Agency or other state equivalent) is required. Experience in EMR implementations and/or Healthcare IT and HIPPA compliance is desired but not essential.
Experience implementing and/or supporting Cerner software applications is highly desirable. Similar experience with other major vendor's software is also highly desirable.
