Chief Investment Office (CIO) / Treasury Overview
The Chief Investment Office is responsible for centralized
management
of the structural interest rate risk and foreign exchange risk created by other lines of businesses and corporate transactions, as well as the oversight of various corporate investments and obligations. CIO uses a diversified range of products, including derivatives, fixed income, equity, credit, and foreign exchange and currencies in order to manage this risk.
NA CIO - Treasury Operations
North America CIO-Treasury Operations is a multi-currency Operations group that supports the firm''s entire Treasury business and provides settlement,
accounting
and
control
support for CIO. In support of Treasury, the group provides end to end transaction lifecycle support for both the Treasury funding and long term debt business. The team processes and accounts for several hundred funding transactions daily across multiple international branches in order to support different LOBs. In support of CIO, the team provides settlements, accounting and control for several different product types including Fixed Income Securities (including US Treasuries, Corporate Bonds, MBS, etc), Interest Rate Derivatives and Exchange Traded Futures and Options across multiple legal entities.
Job Description - CIO/Treasury Operations - Settlement Associate
As a Settlement Associate you will monitor, analyze, and process transactions via numerous proprietary and vendor
systems
. You will interact daily with the Front Office, Middle Office, Accounting team and external counterparties. You will facilitate the accurate and timely settlement across multiple legal entities, currencies, times-zones and products including Time Deposits, CDs, Fed Funds, Commercial Paper and Medium/Long Term Debt.
Settlement Associate performs the following duties:
Process management and supervision
People management and development
Identify trade discrepancies as well as mitigate the risks related to the trade life cycle
Manage complex operational and settlement problems independent of immediate supervision
Perform a daily reconciliation of funds movements
Interact daily with the middle office, counterparties, traders, corresponding banks, immediate supervisors, and the finance desk
Required to master the complexities of many money market instruments as well as gain a solid understanding of the business model and infrastructure
Training of Settlement Specialist staff
Assist and lead on new initiatives and projects
Create and maintain daily and monthly activity reports
Communicate frequently with domestic and international counterparties
Overtime required
Ability to work a rotating shift required. Shifts will include, but not limited to 5:00am - 2:00pm; 8:00am - 5:00pm; 9:30am - 6:30pm; 10:00am - 7:00pm. Shifts can be extended based on volumes or market conditions.
Must be controlled and detail orientated. Must be able to analyze complex and ambiguous issues and recommend creative solutions.
## Qualifications
2-3 years Operations experience required. Settlements experience preferable.
Ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required
Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
Advanced analytical skills required
Strong written and verbal communication skills required
Intermediate PC Skills (Microsoft Office, Email, Internet) required. Advanced Excel preferred.
Basic accounting knowledge
Strong leadership skills
