Important information!

We ARE NOT offering per diem/relocation or housing. Will consider those willing to relocate on their own.
UXOSP are not involved in the execution of explosives operations and shall not have intentional physical contact with MEC.
System One has openings for Unexploded Ordnance Sweep Personnel (UXOSP) to support our clients sweep project at Camp Williams Army National Guard Base. The
job
site is located in the hills and mountains north of Camp Williams and the project is to search 100-percent of the
land
over an approximate 634-acre site and dispose of any munitions or munitions debris encountered. The search/munitions clearance will be conducted by field teams, arranged in a search line, with team members standing abreast to one another at a spacing ranging from a few feet to tens of feet.
Work conditions are harsh and rugged - must be able to hike rugged terrain.
Start time is 7:00am each morning for daily briefing at designated field office.
Must be able to commit to ten (10) hour work days Monday thru Friday.
We are anticipating having people cleared and ready to work by April 23, 2014 depending on the status of the spring snow melt.

Description:
Unexploded Ordnance Sweep Personnel's' (UXOSP) primary responsibility is to assist UXO technicians and UXO-qualified personnel in the performance of UXO-related operations. UXOSP are not UXO technicians, however, all UXOSP shall be provided job and site-specific training. Such training shall include but is not limited to:
Explosives safety; recognition of munitions and explosives of concern (MEC), particularly project and site-specific probable UXO;
The proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required by the project site.
Proficiency training in the use of hand held magnetometers, their use during sweep operations and other site-specific equipment.
UXOSP are not involved in the execution of explosives operations and shall not have intentional physical contact with MEC.
UXOSP positions require the ability to perform daily activities that will consist of lifting metallic items, as instructed, while walking as a member of a sweep line for an estimated five to seven miles a day on hilly, rocky uneven terrain with many areas completely vegetated with dense oak brush. Other activities that UXOSP may perform, with direction and supervision of UXO-qualified personnel, include:
a) Conduct visual detector-aided surface sweep operations to locate UXO, discarded military munitions (DMM), munitions debris (MD) and range related debris (RRD).
b) Perform field maintenance and calibration checks on geophysical detection instruments and related equipment.
c) Remove non-hazardous MD and RRD after they have been inspected by UXO qualified personnel and determined to be safe for handling.
d) Perform road guard and other site/area security functions as directed by project site management.
e) Other activities as directed by project site management.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
