Responsibilities: The Front-End Web Developer position builds front-end interfaces for websites and web applications. Lead efforts to generate markup that will not alter the presentation across supported browsers, operating systems and devices. Essential Functions Strategy & Planning o Assist in interpreting business requirements, creating functional specification, and determining the most efficient/appropriate front-end technologies. o Research and improve current front-end standards. o Research and implement new interface development techniques. Acquisition & Deployment o Assist in the analysis of business models, logical specifications, and/or customer requirements to design and build Internet solutions utilizing multiple technologies. o Work with clients and team members to meet business requirements for projects. o Estimate hours for project tasks. o Schedule and lead brainstorming activities surrounding interface functionality. o Assist in building Information Architecture diagrams. o Perform complex programming assignments requiring an advanced aptitude of established programming standards, methods, and best practices. o Help mitigate significant risks associated with projects, which have a high technical complexity and/or involve significant challenges to the business. Operational Management o Manage and prioritize workload between project and maintenance tasks. o Maintain and modify web applications; make approved changes by amending application documentation, developing detailed programming logic, and coding changes. o Provide support for critical web application problems and issues. o Work with Subject Matter Expert in the discovery and investigation of critical production problems as required. Incidental Functions o Conduct research into new technologies, including tools, components, and frameworks. o Mentor and

junior developers and/or Professional Apprentices o Participate in code review sessions. o Make recommendations to improve development processes. o Troubleshoot production issues. o Support Front-end development efforts as related to projects. o Assist with other projects as may be required to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the work. o Minimal travel as required o Work outside the standard office 7.5 hour workday as required. Experience Required: Knowledge & Experience o 2
years IT experience. o Skilled in CSS3 and HTML5 o Follow web accessibility (Section 508 and WAI) standards. o Good sense of design and typography. o 2
years experience working in standards-based markup. o 2
years working with content management solutions. o 2
years experience using HTML/CSS/JS debugging tools (Firebug, Chrome Developer) o Experience generating templates for various content-based tools (blog, wiki, WCM). o Understand common UX/UI design patterns, best practices, and standard conventions. Demonstrated experience with Photoshop. o Demonstrated use of Source Code Control, preferably Git o 2
years experience working with UNIX. o 2
years experience documenting IA through tools such as Visio. o Minimum of 2 years experience working with jQuery (including the use of AJAX) and JavaScript (including the use of Backbone JS and/or jQuery Mobile frameworks). o Working knowledge of Responsive Web Design. o Experience working as part of an enterprise web team, interfacing with back-end developers, designers, web engineers, and external agencies or partners preferred. Personal Attributes o Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities. o Strong written and oral communication skills. o Ability and initiative to learn and research new concepts, ideas, and technologies quickly. o Able to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. o Ability to translate an idea or need into a completed solution or work product. Education Required: Formal Education & Certification o Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in related field or equivalent experience. Travel Required: Yes - 10% Relocation Assistance: Yes
