Our client, an online behavioral targeting media company, pioneered the concept of Ownership Targeting. They help predict the behavior of consumers based on what the consumer has already purchased. The technology is integrated into exchanges and other networks in real-time and must be lean, mean, always on, and able to handle mounds and mounds of data.
Description:
They are looking for a highly motivated individual to join their Development Operations team. This position will be focused on providing operational support for their advertising platform. In addition to the main responsibilities you'll also have exposure to their Data Warehouse, Real-Time Bidding Platform, Manauslonline.com, and Pixel Platform. The ideal candidate will be eager to wear multiple hats, and be capable of picking up new technologies at a fast pace. Although experience within the Online Media industry is not required, it will be considered a huge plus.
Must have:
? Passion for creating and maintaining robust internal tools and working in a team
? Drive to improve your craft and processes and teach others what you learn
? Interest in the customer (internal and external) and how our products solve problems
? Ability to communicate ideas to people from different disciplines
? Gather, distill, and incorporate the needs for new tools and systems
? Ability to apply skills in tool selection, development, configuration, deployment, automation, and monitoring
? Stay current with emerging industry practices
Desired skills:
? Linux (Centos, Ubuntu, etc.)
? Apache and PHP
? MySQL (database setup and tuning, replication, etc)
? Scripting -- Bash and Python (wizardry with tools like sed/awk essential)
? Version control (Git)
? Monitoring tools -- Nagios/Cacti (writing custom plugins)
? Hadoop (HDFS and MapReduce)
Knowledge of the following (a huge plus):
? Hive, HBase, Oozie, etc
? Pentaho
? Tomcat6 setup and general JVM Tuning
? Java (able to read code)
? Infobright
? Memcached
? Configuration Management (chef and/or puppet)
? Cisco Firewalls/Routers/Switches
? F5 BigIPs
? Sonicwall Routers

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
