Summary:
Under general supervision of the Web & Design
services
Team lead, with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, serves as a front-end web developer. The candidate will be expected to implement web parts into existing framework using a variety of front end languages including XHTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript and jQuery. The consultant should have hands-on experience with web site design, cascading style sheet design and implementation, as well as HTML programming. The ideal candidate should have experienced in video as well, including shooting, editing and publishing video.
Key Relationships:
The Senior Front-end Web Developer will be responsible for working on a broad range of properties including websites and applications. As such, the candidate will work closely with the Web & Design Team, Application development staff, business analysts and PMs across different offices to ensure that front-end development is done in compliance with enterprise level standards.
Responsibilities:
o Work with the Web & Design Services Team to develop websites and applications.
o Provide developers with tools to implement intuitive user interface components in enterprise applications
o Work with the Web & Design Services Team to develop standards of CSS, XHTML, jQuery and other user interface components to ensure consistency across websites and applications
o Assist in the creation and maintenance of websites developed in the Content Management System
o Help in the creation of professional development tools to help support the use of web properties including authoring, content development, etc.
o Stay abreast of the latest UI technologies and work with the Web & Design Services Team to ensure that the organization is proactive in its use of rapidly developing web technologies such as mobile development, video, social media, and Flash.
Qualification Requirements:
Minimum:
o BA/BS degree with an emphasis in human-computer interaction or comparable experience.
o At least 5 years of experience in a creative group environment with at least 4 years in front-end / user interface development
o Portfolio of websites demonstrating mastery of CSS and other front-end technologies
o Excellent written and oral communication skills.
o Minimum 3 years of experience with MCMS
Required Skills:
o Expert level CSS and XHTML skills.
o Expert level knowledge of Dreamweaver, Premiere, Photoshop and Flash CS5/6.
o Working knowledge of JavaScript and jQuery.
o Excellent CSS knowledge required (as opposed to table-based) layout a must.
o Graphical User Interface design experiences a must.
o NET and Visual Studio experience preferred.
o Some SharePoint (2007 / 2010) experience preferred.
