Summary:

The Director of Pricing & Strategy will steward the organizations profitability and competitive advantage. Responsible for directing retail pricing strategy for the entire organization The Director of Pricing & Strategy must ensure optimal margins are attained and are consistent with the organizations growth trajectory. The Director also guides the
executive
team in strategic planning to define the required price strategies for all segments and markets to support AmeriGas' business strategy and executes business plans. Responsible for the managing of pricing in SAP systems and advising management on pricing strategies and actions to be taken in the SAP and non-SAP systems.

Duties and
Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning - Working with the VP of Finance and CFO, CEO, COO and Regional OVP's, leads the company in developing the pricing strategy and margin requirements to generate targeted gross profit for all segments and markets.

Regional Operations- Leads interaction with leadership team on issues related to annual business plan for growth, margin and pricing management.

AmeriGas Cylinder Exchange (ACE) -Interacts withVP of ACEon pricing for new contract bids, renewals or strategy changes on pricing.

National Accounts - Reviews new contracts bids to assure business strategy is attained and consistent with National Account growth plans. Assists as needed on account issues related to pricing.

Regional Pricing -

Regional Operations - Reviews forecasted regional revenue expectationsand provides guidance on potential pricing opportunities and loss exposure. Maintains the yearly buildup and performance tracking of fixed-price customer programs (GPP). Uses Financial Analysts as needed to execute the pricing changes that are required and communicates as needed to field operations.

ACE and National Accounts - Works with National Account Management in review of various contracts and actual account performance for compliance with pricing strategy.

Competitive Price Analysis - Directs analysis and reporting on competitive price trends found in the districts and market areas. This includes EIA survey support, and J&J Haimes price survey review and customer price trends. Ensure pricing supports gross profit targets along with customer growth and retention.


Fixed gallon & cost measurement and tracking - Oversees and provide guidance and tracking for all of the company's fixed gallon purchases. Maintain the appropriate support for these fixed gallon purchases, analyzing program performance and objectives. Build and manage the monthly district hedge allocation of these fixed gallon purchases.

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

BA/BS required, MBA preferred, in finance / accounting plus progressive experience of 10
years in Operations, Finance or Accounting.

Must have Pricing experience and ability to develop pricing strategies

Requires a management level of Information Technology to develop appropriate SAP systems to support pricing and revenue management.

Ability to plan and execute a dynamic business pricing strategy that meets existing business margin targets, provides competitive pricing on new business and maximizes overall gross profit.

Develops technology to support streamlined pricing systems in SAP.

Strong skills in finance and technology with ability to manage the overall company pricing systems to ensure timely, accurate pricing practices and adequate control over pricing changes.

Excellent leadership and communication skills to implement pricing business plan.

Field Operations Experience - Will have to quickly learn and get a though understanding of AmeriGas' Regional Operations and how AmeriGas business works with the ability to communicate to the local managers all across the county to understand their issues, concerns and point of view.

Financial Management Experience- Will have to quickly understand and get extensive knowledge of the AmeriGas pricing systems and accounting. Must have the analytical skills to interpret and forecast business movement in pricing strategy and the communication skills to lead senior management. Must be both project oriented and strategic thinker in planning pricing systems that grow the business profitably.

SAP and IT Systems Experience- Excellent information technology and systems expertise as a business owner with appropriate IT training on related SAP operations modules to convert our STARS system pricing to SAP.

Leadership and Communications- Must be able to design margin management policy and execute in the field operations, AmeriGas Cylinder Exchange and National Accounts, while listening and communicating at various levels in the field and headquarters. Has to be able to write and present as necessary in a variety of situations.
