The Big Picture - Top Skills You Should Possess: - Molecular Biology - In Vitro Lab Techniques - Neuroscience What You'll Be Doing: - The Molecular Biologist will conduct and analyze target identification and target validation studies under supervision with a focus on neuroscience and general medicine, and a strong emphasis on in vitro cell culture experience to run screening assays - Brain sample collection and analysis are secondary - Conduct in vitro phenotypic assays (microscopy, western blot) using primary neurons, astrocyte, and microglia - Gene overexpression, western blot, virus handling What You Need to Bring to the Table: - BS Degree in Biology/Medicine - Experience in conducting and analysing phenotypic in vitro assays (primary culture of neurons and glia, compound testing in primary cells) - More than four (4) years of experience in in vitro lab techniques (western blot, ELISA, PCR, cell culture, microscopy). - Experience in studying/working in a global/multi-cultural environment - Scientific background in neuroscience - Experience in molecular biology (genomic analysis, qPCR, cloning, gene editing) - Experience in immunohistochemistry of brain section (paraffin block, microtome, cryostat) Bonus Points!
