Job Description:
It is the primary responsibility of the Director of Retail Merchandising to develop and execute merchandising strategies, plans, and ideas for fashion, cosmetics, spa, watches, and jewelry for all MGM Resorts International properties. The Director will oversee the implementation of all displays and determines the type of merchandise to be featured for each display. All duties are to be performed in accordance with the department and MGM Resorts International policies, practices and procedures.
Develops the strategies, plans and ideas for all merchandise displays, including fashion, cosmetics, spa, watches, and jewelry, across all MGM Resorts International properties.
Oversees the implementation of all displays; creates the timeline/schedule of seasonal changes and new product introductions; determines the type of merchandise to be featured for each display.
Oversees the merchandise budgets that include sales, gross margins, inventory levels, weeks of supply, and turns; accesses current state of business and provides future forecasts to sales, markdowns, receipt flow & stock balances.
Evaluates and selects vendors based on price, quality, service, availability, production capabilities, and reputation to build market strategies to support assortments and maximize financial plans.
Authorizes all purchase orders & all price changes by department.
Directs evaluates and builds merchandise assortments, pricing strategies, and product specific initiatives and identify growth opportunities in assigned business categories; determines optimal assortment plans by category/brand, sku count and store to maximize revenue per square/linear feet while maintaining visual standards.
Researches and evaluates data on customer demographics, preferences, trends, competitive shopping analysis, needs, and buying habits to identify potential markets, new vendors, new products, and new product concepts; stays abreast of competitor assortments and pricing strategies.
Leads, mentors, trains, and develops a merchandising team to leverage strengths and improve abilities by providing support, feedback, coaching.
Performs all other job related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
Bachelor Degree in Fashion, Merchandising, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
At least 7 years of Retail Buying & Retail Managerial experience, which includes experience in the fashion and/or fine jewelry-watch industry.
Ability to multi-task.
Advanced knowledge of retail math that includes but is not limited to gross margin (GM), turn, weeks of supply (WOS) and sell-through percent.
High level of analytical skills and conceptual creative ability.
Strong problem solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to lead and mentor a team.
Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
Preferred:
Previous Fashion Merchandising background.
GIA certification.
Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
