For additional information on our business, please visit our website: We are looking for a senior level, Industrial Designer for our Research and Development group to work on new product designs from concept to production. This person will be part of a team working with other mechanical/electrical/product engineers to develop state-of-the-art, next generation military and industrial grade vision systems. Daily responsibilities will include generating new product designs, using sketches, rendering, or CAD to illustrate and develop concepts, building models, creating rapid prototypes, and driving human factors and ergonomics part of the development. Thinking outside the box, generating new ideas, and having a strong aesthetic sense is required. The candidate must have the ability to take on a role of a technical lead, prioritize between multiple projects, and push hard to meet deadlines.
BS Industrial Design
Must have BS in Industrial Design with 6-10
years experience. Candidate must have a proven track record developing products that aesthetically and ergonomically exceed customer expectations. Experience designing in consumer, military, or industrial
electronics
field is highly desired. Must have a solid understanding of ergonomics especially applied to handheld electronics such as hand comfort, control interface, and system configuration changes (i.e. swapping lenses, batteries, memory cards, etc.). Must be comfortable with creating concept sketches, illustrations, building models, and presenting to the project stakeholders. Experience designing for vision systems is a big plus. Must be proficient with 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks, Pro/E, Inventor, etc. and willing to learn SolidWorks. Must be able to generate engineering documentation such as design reports and drawings. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience using product data management engineering change tools such as Agile or PDMWorks for engineering change notices and CAD database is a plus.
