UNIX admin w/DNS experience
Our client, a large federal contractor doing business with SSA, is seeking a Unix Administrator to provide Domain Name Server (DNS) administration and UNIX system support to manage and edit internal facing BIND DNS for an Enterprise Environment.
Ideal candidate must have strong Unix admin, with some exposure to DNS.
If we can find a strong DNS person that has experience working on BIND/UNIX DNS specifically I think we can work with that as well.
This contractor is looking for employees (US citizens, green card holders, etc) who are interested in a long-term oportunity with a stable federal agency.

Duties &
Responsibilities:
Develops system specifications, initial system design and installation (i.
e.
; OS, Configuration, Partitioning scheme, packages and dependencies) and maintenance of UNIX BIND DNS Sun Solaris x86 system image Maintains design of BIND DNS hierarchy and delegation of forward and reverse A/PTR zones including redundancy and failover configurations Use basic UNIX navigation skills (cd, ls, cat, find, grep, su, etc.
) and common DNS tools (nslookup, dig, host, etc.
) to perform DNS functions and locate data records to resolve old or stale DNS information.
Maintain DNS records for the network supporting 80,000 users and over 140,000
devices.
Develop/maintain scripts (including but not limited to Shell/Perl) to automate daily record cleanup, backups and UNIX administration tasks.
Analyze and document the BIND DNS environment.
Document scripts per direction of the Task Manager Requirements Desired Skills &
Experience:
Must have 8 years overall experience Knowledge of UNIX operating systems as well as client/server environments, preferably in Solaris x86 system image Experience with Perl /Shell Scripting Recent experience implementing and supporting Unix BIND DNS servers.
Must be able to obtain a clearance with this federal agency.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
