com/healthcaredist General Statement of Job The Certified Medical Assistant performs moderately advanced administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of the Site Practice Manager.
Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding for insurance purposes.
Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Record patients' medical history, vital statistics and information such as test results in medical records.
Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets and physicians' instructions to patients.
Performs certain medical procedures including taking patients' vitals and administering subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, phlebotomy, basic lab tests, dressing changes and suture/staple removal as needed.
Performs all essential office operations, including maintaining various logs and liaising with hospital and physician offices.
Assists the physician during examinations as needed.
Including taking patients' vitals and administering subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
Interviews patients and records all gathered information in the patients chart.
Assists the front office staff as needed.
Prepares collected specimen for laboratory analysis, including properly completing proper lab requisition forms.
Orders supplies and maintains the back office.
Ensures supplies are maintained and ordered in cost-effective manner.
Maintains and monitors biohazard receptacles.
Emergency duty may be required of the incumbent that includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters or to perform other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to threats or disasters, man-made or natural.

Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience:
One (1) year experience as a medical assistant or nurse required.
Certification:
Medical Assistant Certification/Registration with an accredited institution.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
