Tractor Trailer Mechanic
Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance on diesel tractors, trailers and refrigeration units.
Troubleshoot and repair equipment problems.
Repair any equipment problems and answer drivers' telephone request for assistance with equipment failure while out on the road.
Maintain and repair all equipment to include engine, starting and charging, electrical, body, wheels, brakes, suspension and interior.
Must supply own tools up to 1 size with the proper tool box, including air tools.
Follow company procedures and ensure a safe work environment.
Responsible for performing all job duties with honesty and integrity.
SKILLS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
May require valid DOT physical card and a driver's license and may need certification in the use of refrigerants and recycling equipment.
Some mechanics must have the ability to drive a repair vehicle off the premises to perform emergency repairs on the road.
Must be able to work full time with the ability to work any shift and be on call 24 hours a day.
