K-2 Classroom Teacher for Cooperative Elementary School (Normandy Park)

We are seeking an innovative and passionate WA State certified teacher to join our vibrant, multi-age, progressive learning community for the 2014-2015 academic year.
We serve students ages 5-11 and offer teachers a collaborative and supportive working environment.
In a cooperative school teachers, administrators and parents work together both in the classroom and to support administrative functions.
Everyone participates on a school support team and parents volunteer to hold board positions.

OPEN TEACHING POSITION:
Elementary Classroom Teacher for Ages 5-7 Teaching responsibilities and schedule.

This position will be primarily responsible for teaching core academics in a multiage classroom of students ages 5-7.
This position also works closely with our older multiage classroom teacher to create all-ages learning opportunities and ensure we are best serving all students.
Weekly schedule:
- Monday -- Thursday - 28-32 hours per week - 2 required evening meetings per month Required Qualifications - WA State Certificated Teacher for K-8 - Strong understanding and passion for progressive education teaching models and whole child development - Experience teaching multi-age classes and able to differentiate instruction - Ability and drive to create curriculum and emergent projects - Strong collaborative skills and willingness to work on a team with teachers, administrators, parents and students - Ability to support, manage and communicate with parents - Strong overall organizational and communication skills - Creative thinking and problem-solving skills - Able to see the Big Picture It would also be nice if you.

- Have experience working in a cooperative school setting - Have a special skill to enrich our program in such areas as visual/performing art, outdoor education, gifted or special education background, teaching advanced students, foreign language, technology, etc.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
