Accounting Manager must be team oriented, proactive, and goal driven.
He/she will be responsible for all areas of financial reporting, data compilation, cost accounting, developing accounting policies and procedures, managing accounting staff, and month-end closing activities.
This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements, and use independent judgment to recognize and resolve problems.
The Accounting Manager supervises 5 full-time staff and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Job Duties:
? Ensure the timely close and reporting of all monthly financial information.
Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information.
Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts.
Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
Maintaining the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and internal controls.
Assist with the daily banking requirements.
Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
Support CFO/CEO with special projects and workflow process improvements including financial reporting, external reporting, and compliance.

GAAP compliance and other regulations by monitoring changes and assisting in the implementation of required internal procedures for compliance Fixed Asset Tracking and depreciation accounting Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.
Work with each direct report to establish professional goals and objectives for each year.
Monitor progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Skills / Qualifications Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
BA/BS in Accounting or Business with an emphasis in Accounting Understanding of revenue recognition and other accounting principles (GAAP) Experience in multi-entity environment Technical Skills and Prior Experience 3-5 years of management experience in the general ledger/financial reporting area Ability to interpret and analyze commonly used financial reports including company financial statements ERP General Ledger experience a plus.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and other electronic accounting/reporting tools.
Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
