Responsibilities:
Oversees shipping and receiving operations ensuring that goods are received and products are loaded out in a timely and efficient manner.
Leads production scheduling to ensure appropriate quantities and varieties of product are produced to fill orders for products.
Creates, monitors and implements processes that ensure efficient, timely, cost effective, high-quality production.
Orders and manages all financial requirements of this department, including budgeting, cost controls and compiling/analyzing production and cost data for required company and government reports.
Monitors and maintains equipment used in production process to ensure that equipment is functioning properly.
Hires, trains and develops production and distribution (drivers, etc.
) team.
Fosters an environment of participation to enhance awareness and cooperation.
Coordinates disciplinary action of staff with Human Resources as required.
Coordinates with Human Resource Department on staff needs of the facility.
Facilitates the development of strategies and corrective actions to resolve quality and operational issues as necessary.
Communicates with CEO regarding all matters that may require his attention.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience as Sous-Chef or in food production.
5 -- 7 years of hands-on experience in food processing of high value protein.
5 -- 7 years as a proven effective leader.
Strong working knowledge of general business concepts and practices, especially as they relate to the seafood manufacturing business.
Possesses excellent employee relations and leadership skills.
Extreme dedication to customer service.
Clear understanding of process and process improvement (continuous improvement, Kaizen, or 6 Sigma).
Must be able to train, manage and develop staff, formulate policies, and direct activities.
Creative problem resolution skills.
Excellent time management.
Must have strong initiative and be an innovative thinker.
A bachelor's degree is not required but strongly preferred.
Ability to work in a harsh environment (i.
e.
, cold, wet).
