Cardiology Associates seeks a medical receptionist for our clinical office located at the Washington Hospital Center. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced work environment with changing priorities and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality. This is a great opportunity to work with a dynamic and prestigious practice.
Responsibilities:

Patient check in and check out

Scheduling of appointments

Collecting and entering patient co-payments

Patient insurance verification

Following detailed processes and multi-tasking

Answering and using a multi-line phone system
Qualifications:

High School Diploma

Three years experience in a health care setting, including the regular use of computerized scheduling system, knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9 and CPT coding, and in policies, procedures, rules and regulations of insurance companies.

Demonstrated ability to operate multi-line telephone systems

Knowledge of cardiology terminology preferred

Must be able to type at least 35 words per minute

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
