Description:
McCann Detroit is looking for a Graphics Services Supervisor. This position will be responsible for the coordination of all agency requests submitted our internal Studio. They will determine how the department will prepare a job and make assignments with special instructions. The Supervisor serves as a liaison between the Studio and the Agency's account, print production and art buying teams.
Accountabilities:
Point at which all production related requests and communications begin for the Studio.
Makes certain all Studio projects are completed in a professional, timely manner.
Reviews requests for Studio services to determine time, processes, and skills needed to complete the pre-press/retouching work.
Plans the sequence in which the work is to be completed, scheduling production activities, assuring the graphics team has what they need to be able to complete the work.
Assigns requests to team members for completion according to instructions.
Tracks job through the department. Updates all parties on schedule changes and/or concerns.
Ensures that all agency Color/Retouching needs are understood and completed in a professional, timely manner. Reviews original and adjusted images for correctness prior to releasing to the Agency for review.
Responsible for the QC and shipping of all projects.
Notifies management of changes that might impact operations or scheduling priorities and advises when additional time is required to complete the requested delivery.
Contributes to the overall success of the Studio by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
Completion of specialized technical training or vocational education beyond high school, such as a two-year vocational/technical degree in Graphic Arts, Printing Technology, or a related field is required
Minimum five years of experience in progressively responsible position in printing and the graphic arts digital pre-press field
Two years of supervisory experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Organizational skills to plan and coordinate all studio operations.
A thorough understanding of computer design software.
A thorough understanding of digital file formats (pdf, tiff, eps.) from different operating systems (Mac and PC).
Proficiency in all Adobe Creative Suite 6 software packages on a Mac computer.
Visual acuity in order to examine printing products for quality and the ability to distinguish color.
