SUMMARY : The Technical Writer is responsible for creating documentation for any Dominion Dealer Solution product. This position reports directly to the Manager of Educational Services and is located in the Indianapolis, IN office. ESSENTIAL DUTIES : Includes the following (other duties may be assigned): Participates in the testing environments to assure developed products meet Product Management Use Case design specifications, customer expectations and total quality management limits and standards - to the extent that this exercise is necessary to understand how the product functions for the purpose of documenting its features. Analyzes software/products in depth and creates documentation to augment the release of products. Consults with developers and product management regarding business knowledge and system design. Assists with tasks associated with the product release testing environment to the extent that it will further define documentation needs. Researches and develops a thorough understanding of the requirements and/or specifications for the product features being documented, including how the users use the product. Create training documentation to be used for internal training purposes. Operates under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment. Provide a user's eye to the discussion regarding UI/GUI direction. Responsible for the overall quality of documentation and training materials: Needs Assessment, Concept, Structure and Implementation of documentation creation software. Facilitation of a cross-departmental team to review and approve all documentation prior to publishing. Detailed process and schedule for maintaining all software user documentation. Implementation of online reference help, knowledge base, technical reference guide, quick reference guide and context sensitive help. Responsible for research with Business Analysts, Quality Assurance staff, Product Managers, and System Developers to understand features/products to be documented for training and user documentation. Focused organizational efforts required to maintain proper service levels for the tasks mentioned above including task forces, committees, meetings, and key partnerships. Experience: This position requires a minimum of a 2 year college degree, preferably in a business, computer science or journalism/communication field. The educational requirements may be minimized if the candidate has an appropriate amount of experience comprised of at least 3-5 years professional technical writing. Applicant must demonstrate an understanding of technical writing, proper grammatical sentence, and writing structure. Experience with computers, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and excellent communication skills are essential. Prefer experience with Help and Manual technical writing software, , screencast software and basic HTML. Having 2 or more years experience in technical support and troubleshooting of the Dominion Dealer Solution suite of products from the technical, training, or support area is preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to read, analyze, and interpret simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, internal customers, and external customers. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, percentages, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES and REQUIREMENTS: Excellent written and oral communication skills. General understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle. Good application knowledge and use awareness. Able to accurately estimate task durations and meet schedules. Detailed knowledge of company's software products, systems, and software development procedures. Ability to work independently. Able to handle interruptions without losing ability to return to concentration of writing. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel within the organization. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities. High level of initiative. Ability to speak intelligently regarding the breadth of our products and services and their integrated relationships. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
