Schedules procedures via a computer system following established protocols that promote physician satisfaction and schedule efficiencies. Coordinates STAT scheduling directly with technologists and physicians of the affected sections.
Knowledge of office procedures in a healthcare environment normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma with previous computer experience, courses in medical terminology, and experience in a medical office setting.
Graduation from an approved vocational technical adult education program for unit clerks, radiology field or surgical technologists or an approved unit clerk program beneficial.
Previous unit clerk experience, courses in anatomy and previous radiology or surgical technologist experience beneficial.
Certification from an approved unit clerk program beneficial.
Possesses comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, and surgical and radiology procedure names.
