The Hazardous Waste and Toxics Reduction (HWTR) Program is made up of people dedicated to fostering sustainability, preventing pollution, and promoting safe waste management. We do many different things in a coordinated approach to protect the people and environment of Washington from pollution from hazardous products and waste.
The program's Eastern Regional Office (ERO) in Spokane, WA is looking to fill a Section Secretary (Secretary Senior) position.
This position supports the mission of the agency and program by providing administrative and secretarial support for a regional section of approximately 9 environmental professionals.
This position independently performs duties, such as:
Follows agency standards and good business practices to compose and/or format and finalize correspondence, using Microsoft Word; reviews correspondence for grammar, sentence structure, and clarity; produces correspondence including letters and memos to internal and external parties.
Creates and maintains both physical and electronic files and filing systems for administrative and technical data documents.
Acts as a liaison between section staff and Central Records staff to coordinate public information requests.Inputs data accurately and timely into the programdatabases.
Assembles materials for mass mailings and maintains up-to-date mailing lists; provides copying and faxing service for the section.
Coordinates the logistics of meetings within section or multi-programmatic and external parties.
Provides backup support to the Regional Administrative Reception Team.
Ensures time accounting data is entered by the deadline and maintains the original time accounting files and reviews for accuracy.
Coordinates the preliminary purchase requests for office supplies and field supplies.
Makes travel arrangements for the section manager and program staff.
This position will close on September 24, 2014. The initial screening will be September 17, 2014. Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
High school graduation or equivalent and two years of increasingly responsible secretarial office experience which includes experience working with administrative procedures, editing technical and legal documents, and government records and public disclosure requests.
Proficient and knowledgeablein the use of computers, including the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook and SharePointto create, format, and edit a variety of products, and organize work.
Ability to proofread and finalize formal documents with a high degree of accuracy. This includes proofreading and editing written material,
identifying and correcting errors in grammar, improving its clarity, composition, flow, organization, content, punctuation, and spelling.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience working with databases.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
