Communications Consultant

Supports the region's strategic internal communications objectives through developing, executing and measuring internal communications campaigns strategies and tactics and contributing to other communications planning and projects as needed. Works with upper level management to develop internal communications plans to support objectives. Maintains and supports a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity. Ensures ongoing compliance for Integrated Communications and Brand Management. Maintains and supports a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity. Maintains knowledge of policies and procedures and performs in accordance with the Principles of Responsibilities and applicable regulatory requirements, external laws and accreditation standards. Reports, appropriately, observed fraud or abuse.
Essential Functions:
- Develops and implements strategic integrated internal communications campaigns.
- Works with other members of the Corporate Communication team to identify and develop opportunities to enhance internal audience's awareness, perceptions and understanding of the organization and its strategic initiatives.
- Takes a leadership role in planning and executing regional leadership forums and other meetings as necessary.
- Provides communications consultation and recommendations to KPCO leadership on a wide range of organizational priorities.
- Acts as a communications consultant for internal clients on communication needs associated with special projects.
- Serves as a liaison for the Colorado Regional Team (Labor/Management Partnership) on communications projects.

- Minimum five (5) years of experience required in journalism, public relations or internal communications.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field required.
License, Certification, Registration
- N/A

- Ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide range of internal and external constituencies, including various levels of management at the regional and national level.
- Excellent skills for planning, organizing, managing time, and setting priorities.
- Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and listening skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to find creative solutions to problems and workflow processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
Preferred
Qualifications:
- Master's degree preferred.
- Internal communications, strong writing skills and web background preferred.
External hires must pass a background check/drug screen.
