Description:
SAIC is seeking Microsoft Access Developer for an on-site position at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT). Developer will be responsible for development and deployment of MS Access applications which will include maintenance of legacy applications for user issues and requested enhancements. You will be responsible for designing, testing and integration of new capabilities within the customer's Microsoft Access environment.
Specific tasks may include the following:
Develop effective and efficient software components that comply with software design specifications as well as customer and industry best practices.
Employ version management and change control procedures for code base.
Provide time estimates for assigned work products that accurately reflect the level of effort required for requested development
Conduct thorough unit testing of all assigned work products
Support the deployment of software solutions into the customer's production environment
Provide immediate solution support and troubleshooting following deployment
Write quality technical documentation to describe resolution actions and best practices. Document operational procedures.
Recommend products, innovations and process changes to improve quality of service delivery and management.
Provide mentoring and training to peers on various products, systems and troubleshooting techniques. This will include on-the-job training and some briefings.
The successful candidate will be required to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment that requires customer interaction and coordination of efforts. We are looking for someone experienced in interfacing with client managers and system users that have varying knowledge and experience.
Qualifications
:
Bachelor's degree and minimum of 3 years of experience in full software lifecycle development from requirements capture through post deployment support. Four additional years of experience may be consdiered in lieu of a degree.
Minimum of 3 years development experience developing in Microsoft Access.
Solid understanding and experience with other components of the suite of Microsoft development architectures: , C++, C#, AJAX, Web Services, Silverlight, SQL Server, UML, XML.
Strong knowledge of Visual Studio, Visual Studio Team System/Team Foundation Server, Hyper-V, VMWare
Demonstrated experience and expertise designing, implementing, and supporting solutions in Microsoft Access
Proven ability to develop solutions in compliance with applicable Information Assurance (IA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS)
CompTIA Security
and/or Microsoft Certification desired but not required.
Experience with migrations into SharePoint from other portal platforms desired but not required.
