Summary:The Point of Service Financial Counselor will be responsible for working with patients in advance of scheduled services to collect or arrange for resolution of the patient responsibility prior to the services being rendered.The goal of the POS Financial Counselor is to enhance customer satisfaction by eliminating financial concerns while meeting financial goals of the organization.This position will also assist patients with resolution of balances due from patients and other responsible parties, free care eligibility in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.Additional responsibilities include providing financial counseling in specific areas as needed as well as assisting with insurance and pre-certification verification.
Requirements:High School graduate or equivalent.Minimum of two years relevant experience, including knowledge of scheduling, registration , and medical terminology.Minimum of one (1) year experience in Audiology preferred, but similar experience considered.Understanding of various insurance plan requirements and authorization processes: government agencies, Medicare and Medicaid and commercial insurance.
Skills:Must demonstrate the ability to comfortably use a variety of software programs.Ability to type minimum of 40 wpm.High level of interpersonal communication skills required.Understanding and knowledge of various medication relating to patients diagnosis.Must be detail oriented with exceptional organizations skills.
Audiology experience preferredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
