Individual will oversee the design of products to be manufactured and then generate work orders and cuts lists for company suppliers and employees. Individual will also complete research and development of current and future products.
General Description:
Individual will learn how machines and parts are assembled as well as manufactured; they will work with co-workers and suppliers to improve current designs efficiently and safely. Employee will be responsible for design, development, implementation and analysis of technical products and systems. Will also perform engineering design evaluations and may develop a range of products. Individual will make recommendations for alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
Essential Duties:
Create new drawings in Solidworks, update existing drawings, organize drawings, parts and assemble files by computer specific categories.
Improve current designs via research and development. This includes figuring out more cost effective or efficient ways to manufacture our products, improving our services through simplicity of design as well as, reducing costs, and promoting safety through machine design process.
Generate renderings for advertisements and websites. As well as dimensional drawings for customers.
Individual will work directly with customers on approval drawings or design questions he or she might have.
Maintain communication with department leads and vendors to ensure deadlines are met and all necessary materials have been ordered.
Trouble shooting issues as they arise
Minimum Experience and
Qualifications:
4 year degree in mechanical engineering
2 years' experience in each of the following:
Research and development required.
Working in a manufacturing or similar setting
Must be proficient in Solid works
Valid Driver's license with a clean driving record
Experience working with Solidworks.
Must be proficient in : Word, Excel, Outlook, ect.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the mechanical/ electrical engineering field.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
