## Position Description
Introduction:
The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC is seeking a Ballistic Missile Defense System(BMDS) Analyst.
Job
Summary: Support system analysis of the performance of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) and the Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) element, including track processing performance analysis. Activities include system and subsystem level modeling, BMD Benchmark development, and analyses of actual system performance against simulated and live threat presentations.
Duties (Listed in order of importance with the estimated amount of time spent at each task):
1. Work in a multidisciplinary team environment to perform end-to-end system level analysis of Air and Missile Defense systems against advanced threats, and dynamic system architectures. (50%)
2. Develop analysis tools and work with existing tools to support the sponsor community in assessing current and future capabilities and future defense system concepts. (25%)
3. Coordinate and effectively present analysis products with both APL staff and other government contractors in support of the sponsoring programs. (25%)

Required Qualifications: BS in Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent. Ability to develop innovative solutions to research problems. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Strong familiarity with scientific programming. Demonstrated ability to both work independently with little guidance and direction, and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment. Ability to obtain SECRET clearance.

Qualifications: Experience with ballistic missile defense concepts and modeling of systems. Demonstrated ability to communicate with senior leadership. Strong experience with BMD Benchmark, and Missile Defense Agency systems. Strong MatLab skills.
Special Working Conditions:
Travel as required for sponsor meetings, and technical interchange meetings in the DC region including Arlington, VA. Occasional travel (3-4 times year) to sponsor meetings, contractor sites or test facilities requiring air travel, such as Huntsville, AL or Colorado Springs, CO.
Security: Applicant selected will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
