## Position Summary
Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
This list is meant to be representative, not exhaustive. This position supports the Assistant Director of Scholarships. The Coordinator is responsible for the processing of outside agency scholarships which includes managing deposits, tracking and monitoring outside scholarship checks, disbursing funds to students and returning funds to donors. This position is also responsible for assisting with the processing of all internal scholarships and remissions to include calculating and adjusting aid packages. The Coordinator also assists with athletic scholarship processing by adding athletic aid to award packages, notifying athletes of other awards, and posting actual awards to student accounts. This position is also responsible for processing third party awards which includes running reports to find third party activity posted on student accounts, adjusting aid packages and communicating aid package changes to students. The position also requires the individual to be cross-trained with the other Coordinator positions (Grants and Loans) in order to fill-in gaps during peak processing or employee absences.
Additional Duties:
This position provides support to the Assistant Director for other projects as assigned.
Minimum
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and minimum of one year financial aid or related experience in higher education. Effective communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Math and keyboarding skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
