A full service, intellectual property law firm located in downtown Chicago, is seeking a technology-savvy, mid-level marketing/BD professional to join their multi-disciplinary Marketing and Business Development team. The Strategist will help leverage industry-leading technologies to build the Firm brand and develop business across the Firm's target client base in industries including biotechnology, Internet technology and consumer products, for companies ranging from the Fortune 500 to startups.
The Marketing & Business Development Strategist will have primary responsibility for the Firm's marketing technologies, includingstewardship of the Firm's CRM system (InterAction), execution of e-mail campaigns in Vuture, advertising design and other technology-intensive functions. We are looking for an individual to help develop, communicate, own and execute against the long-term, strategic CRM roadmap for the Firm. The Firm's entrepreneurial environment requires a self-motivated individual who is interested in playing a role in all facets of marketing and business development, which may extend to events, RFP responses, and involvement with practice group and client team business development initiatives.
The Strategist works closely with other members of the Marketing/Business Development team, under the direction of the Marketing & Business Development Committee as well as the Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer. The Strategist position interacts closely with staff members in other administrative departments within the Firm, and will work directly with many of the Firm's 80
attorneys on a daily basis.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
o 2 - 4 years of work experience in a law firm or professional services setting REQUIRED(including 2-3 years of experience in marketing technologies/CRM REQUIRED). Business development experience preferred.
oBachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Information
Systems, Information Technology or related field required (Advanced degree is a plus).
oExpert knowledge of CRM technologies, capabilities and best practices, specifically InterAction, is REQUIRED. Experience training attorneys on InterAction is preferred.
oExperience in managing and executing e-mail campaigns through platforms such as Vuture, ConstantContact or Tikit.
o Good grasp of project management techniques through all project phases (initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing) and the appropriate tools to employ at each stage.
o Ability to collaborate and understand business needs and effectively apply CRM technical expertise to meet project objectives.
o Proficiency in InDesign, Quark, Photoshop or related graphic design software. (HTML and web editing software are highly valued.)
oSuperior writing skills and keen attention to detail.
oFamiliarity with AtVantage, Redwood Analytics, InterAction and other research tools is preferred.
oAdvanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Outlook.
oStrong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to work creatively in problem solving environment
oAbility to respond to rapidly changing conditions, to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
oCreative thinker, problem solver, entrepreneurial attitude desired.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
