Responsibilities
Lead Fermentation Pilot Plant Experimental Program
Design experiments that balance support for strain improvement, process development, and plant-site support.
Identify process improvement opportunities through data mining, reviewing scientific literature, Lilly partners/colleagues and observation.
Ensure that experiments are well designed with clear objectives
Supervise associate and operations specialists
Responsible for hiring, coaching, mentoring and administering PM plans and discipline model when appropriate
Maintain an effective team: motivate, recognize and reward accomplishments, coach and mentor talent
Provide technical support to the natural products fermentation network
Provide technical support to monensin and narasin fermentation processes
Provide technical consultation with site management and site TS/MS
Monitor production processes
Utilize safe laboratory practices, lead in safety compliance and improvement
Analyze experimental, pilot and manufacturing plant data
Ensure that data are documented and interpreted Explore and foster emerging technologies that may be applied to developing and controlling processes Write technical papers and reports in a timely fashion
Basic Qualifications
PhD in Microbiology or Chemical Engineering or Masters plus three years of experience in a fermentation or cell culture

Day shift, Indianapolis location, some travel expected, including by car.
Allergen risk.
Work area has historically had penicillin, cephalosporin, and tylosin present.
Soy and other natural materials are handled.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
